Enjoy an afternoon of top quality jump racing, featuring the prestigious Fighting Fifth Hurdle, the first Grade 1 hurdle race of the 2018-19 Jump Season on Saturday 1st December at Newcastle racecourse.
The race was won in 2017 by two time Champion Hurdle winner Buveur D’Air, who went on to become the first horse since Kribensis (1990) to win the Hurdling Triple Crown. Nicky Henderson has advised that the plan is to once again send Buveur D’Air to Newcastle for his seasonal debut. Supreme Novices Hurdle winner Summerville Boy is also a possible runner in this year’s renewal. A clash between these two stars would be one not to be missed!
Also on the card is the Listed Rehearsal Chase, won in 2017 by Beware The Bear, plus a pair of high quality, competitive, Class 2 events over hurdles. These races often offer fantastic pointers to the jump season ahead.
Tickets for the day are available from £16 in advance. There are a range of tickets and packages on offer, all bookable online via the Newcastle Racecourse website.
