2017 Cheltenham Festival Guide

It’s almost time for the biggest Jump event of the season, the Cheltenham Festival.  
As well as watching some of the finest jockeys, horses and trainers battle it out for the highest racing honours, make sure you take time to experience all that Cheltenham has to offer, including the fantastic Trophy room located only a short distance from the winner’s enclosure.

You should also pay a visit to the Hall of Fame, showcasing Cheltenham Gold Cup winners’ silks and experience the electric atmosphere of the Guinness Village, with live bands playing throughout the day, it’s the perfect place to hang out with friends.
 
 
If you still have some time to spare then make your way to the very popular shopping village, with a huge range of quality gifts to suit all tastes. And finally, after the racing has finished the Final Flight Bar is the place to be. Open until 7.30pm on all four nights of The Festival, you can guarantee the Guinness will be flowing or you can enjoy live music whilst sipping cocktails!
 
Now here’s a look at what each day of The Festival has to offer:
 

Day 1 – Champions Day – 14th March

Champions day signals the start of the Festival, featuring the most important race of the season, the Stan James Champion Hurdle, won last year by the incredible Annie Power.
 
 

Day 2 – Ladies Day – 15th March

The day when the ladies dress to impress in stylish and glamourous outfits. As well as top notch racing there will also be prizes up for grabs for the best dressed lady, best accessories and best hat!

 

Day 3 – St Patricks Thursday – 16th March

Get into the Irish spirit and celebrate St Patrick’s Day on the third day of The Festival. The Guinness will be flowing and they’ll be plenty of Irish music to enjoy. Feature races include The Sun Bets Stayer’s Hurdle and the Ryanair Chase.
 
 

 Day 4 – Gold Cup Day – 17th March

The final day of The Festival features the most prestigious race; the Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup Steeple Chase, one not to be missed!
